Nytimes.com
Unlike factcheck.org this site collects two sets of information from their viewers. They collect personal and non-personal information, but they only collect personal information if you subscribe, complete a survey, or when you provide your email address. By registering to their site you are allowing them to access personal information such as your zip code, age, sex, income, and your job title. If you do not register to their site the only information they can gather from you is your device IP address, geolocation information, and other things related to your device. They also explain what they do with the information they get from you and how they go about protecting your information. |
Npr.org
Unlike the other two sites NPR starts off their private policy by letting their viewers know if they are under the age of 13 they should get permission from their parents before sharing any of their personal information to any site. Their privacy policy is also longer than the others and it goes in to a little more detail as well. Other than that they collect the same type of information as the other two previous sites. They also use the information they gather from you in the same way as the other sites. At the end of the policy they give you a list of their contact information just in case you have any concerns or questions concerning their policy. |
